My brain is too full to let anything out. Kind of like a dam. If a little starts to come out it just won't stop and I'm not really in the mood to think that much right now. Instead I'll just post images that I love.

i'm gonna go berserk because...
it has occurred to me that a fair amount of my clothes i get from my friends...otherwise known as jessica. she's got her own radical style and goes through clothes like crazy, thankfully for my closet :)
to love and to break into tears...
watched snakes on a plane last night...for the first time. it was pretty cool watching the documentaries in the special features. a lot was added and/or changed with the film in regard to things that were happening on the internet with fans. the movie had before it was made!! the interweb is a crazy place i say.
i'm still playing catch up on outfit posts. but it is that time of year whence i dive into the boyfriend's closet for new outfit ideas. last night i confiscated a great plaid button shirtup which i paired with black woolford tights and gray slouch boots. no photos of that yet as i forgot to download them today. hopefully i can get to them tomorrow.
what do you do with boy clothes?
t-shirt made by boyfriend, skirt from maya, shoes from maya. i ended up substituting the skirt for black cheap monday skinny jeans.
jen blogged not to too long ago about something that i had been thinking about. i've borrowed her image here because it articulates perfectly how lame these shoes are. i'll take diy any day over these. anyhow, check out her blog cause she's got a rad sense of humor and delicious style.

unlink the chain and you're ready
i can't get enough of these kenneth cole shoes!!! i just love them all over the place. i've been searching for outfits to wear to my big kid job. i would prefer not to purchase new clothes seeing that i have no money but most of my wardrobe is not office or professional worthy.
here is the new office!!! so exciting. hopefully we get to move in this weekend. it's been a long time coming.
thrifted blouse, men's vest from jessica, nudie jeans, thrifted kenneth cole boy's shoes
i love the sleeves on this shirt. they make me feel just a little girly.

I am destined to burn in your cage
some have e-mailed me asking if i would post outfit photos. i have to admit this is both shocking and flattering. i like clothes. i like to look at clothes other people wear, but i myself am not as fashionable as some of you may think. i've said it before i live in jeans and t-shirts. and it wasn't until kate lanphear came around that i thought this kind of look could be remotely fashionable. not that i can afford her wardrobe but i can certainly glean inspiration from it.
so here i give you an outfit post. funny that i'm not actually wearing jeans or pants for that matter.

You Must Be A Witch
the entire time in both berlin and stockholm i encountered one pinball machine. one. it was in a heavy metal bar next to a pool table. all of the proceeds went to the local hell's angels club. the pinball machine wasn't even turned on.

the world's a mess it's in my kiss
the weather has been tolerable here. cold but not raining which is nice. the lack of wet ground has inspired me to purchase or shall i say want to purchase shoes that make absolutely no sense for portland winters. i know, i'm still working on the whole 'good fashion doesn't have to make sense or be practical' idea. here are some things for my imaginary wardrobe.
balmain vest, h&m t-shirt, topshop jeans, marni shoes
margiela jacket, topshop shirt, accessorize armband, asos tights
ysl shirt, topshop shoes and jeans, h&m sunglasses, unknown ring
also, if i ever see anybody wearing this joy division shirt i will have to carefully rip it from their body and runaway.

Did you ever see that CSI episode concerning humans and stuffed animal costumes?
In other news, I've been perusing and have found some wonderfully inspirational clothes.
i think scouring goodwill men's t-shirts will provide me with something similar to work with.
further confirmation that tights are pants. elise.

loving this look from rumi
legs legs legs! i've always been a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl and have tried so many times to try something different. the thing is, most times when i put a skirt on i just don't feel like myself. well thanks to the lovely queen michelle and again to angie motreali think i have found a fantastic alternative. now, if i could just find sometime and $$$ to get sewing!
my absolute favorite street style from garance

10 October
the posts have been few and far between and for that i am truly sorry. things have been crazy busy with work and school. elise and i should be moving into our new office in a week or so. here's the progress on it as of last week.
since that photo our floor has been sanded and stained the color of sweet sweet honey. i think all that's left is a little drywall!!!
this is elise, my business partner, handing over our business' very first check to the wonderfully talented melanie brown.

Portland Fashion Week
Portland and fashion have never really gone together in my book. Perhaps it is the perpetually gray and drizzly winters or maybe it is the lack of places to find great pieces to add to the wardrobe. And maybe I shouldn't really be one to talk. I participate in fashion as much as looking and wanting, layering and unlayering. I can't afford topshop and Portland doesn't have King street worthy shopping. Granted we have a shit ton of great designers and a few good boutiques but nothing, so far, that I lust for and dream about at night.
Portland Fashion Week is coming up this weekend after surveying their website and looking into the designers represented I've decided there is nothing that justifies me buying a ticket. Now this constitutes a problem for me: I love looking at clothes and I love the idea of being able to sit at a runway and see what local designers want to see on their patrons, but the garments that I've seen PFW designers are horribly boring and lack any kind of creativity.
There is however, hope on the horizon. PFW may be lacking fashion and design sense but there are plenty of other local designers doing their thing, this weekend in fact. On Friday at Someday Lounge a group of Portland favorites will be showing their wares in a multi-designer fashion show coordinated by Gretchen Jones (Moth Love). Other participating designers besides Jones are Emily Katz, Emily Baker of sword+fern, Dust by Julia Blackburn and Reif by Lindsay Reif.
I will be the first to admit, and I hope this dissuades any hate mail I might get about my rant, that know very little about Portland designers. I am, however, now determined to seek them out, dress up with them embrace, some of them, with open loving arms.

4 October
I'm at a bit of a loss with the blog. I've spent the past month posting photos and little musings that some of you, i hope, have found enjoyable. Now that I'm back, however, I don't have those everyday adventures and things to post about. It's all work and school these days, gone are the lazy days of wandering around a foreign city, meeting strange people and discovering oddities.
I suppose, for me, the natural progression of this space is to post the things that I see everyday in Portland. Instead of wandering around outside taking photos I wander around the internet looking for things that catch my eye. I read, well rather look - the more photos the better, fashion and design blogs every morning before work or school searching for those indelible images that motivate and inspire.
I shall lament no further but rather leave you with some tasty images.

catching up
after two days of extreme jet lag i finally felt back to normal. and after trying desperately to catch up at the job and starting up classes again i finally feel like i can allow myself a little time to blog. i really enjoyed blogging on an almost daily basis while traveling and i would like to continue. inspired by many of the blogs i read i can't help but wonder, where in the world do these girls find the time to do this? i salute you.
being without the internet in stockholm i didn't get to post as much as i wanted to here is my stockholm photo essay. enjoy!
