maya lin at pace wildenstein in chelsea. i have wanted to see this exhibit for quite sometime, it's seeming simplicity allows the mind to move over each ledge. made out of over 50,000 vertical two-by-four pieces of wood the work is by no means simple but the uniformity of shape and material lend itself nicely to contemplative thought. i love art like this. unpretentious and straightforward.
